Year 11 Theatre Studies – Class takes on a classic
The Year 11 Theatre Studies class presented their group performance of the classic Greek tragedy Medea. The play was written in 431 B.C. by famed playwright Euripides and tells a tale of revenge in a time of Gods and men.
This performance was assessed as part of the students Unit One Outcome Two SAC which demonstrates a student’s ability to apply acting and other stagecraft to interpret playscripts from the pre-modern era.
The students did an amazing job portraying numerous characters with nuanced performances in traditional masks and costuming. With this performance under their belts, they look to Unit One exams and an evening performance in Term 3 or a modern playscript.
