VC&D goes 3D

09 October 2015 by

Menelo Maverick Menor, Year 12 student in Mr Tagliabue’s Visual Communication and Design class, was the first student at MacKillop to officially use our 3D Printers in the production of his VCE folio. Maverick taught himself Blender, a 3D designing software program, then used one of the four College’s 3D Printers to create his model of a car bonnet badge.

This process took a total of three months, with much experimentation, big learning curves and a number of hurdles to overcome. However, Maverick persevered through the process to create what is a wonderful example of 3D engineering. Throughout this whole process Mr Tagliabue supported his development and provided much appreciated advice on the design aspects and processes of Maverick’s production.
