SACCSS Swimming success

On Tuesday 28th March forty-six students represented MacKillop at the annual SACCSS Swimming Carnival at MSAC in Albert Park. At the end of 192 events MacKillop finished the day with four champions’ pennants in the following divisions – Junior Girls, Junior Aggregate, Intermediate Aggregate and Senior Aggregate. The team also finished as runners-up in the Intermediate Boys and Senior Girls divisions.
The individual highlights of the day came from the two students who won the individual champions medal in their respective age groups – Zahra Abela of Year 9 in the 15 year old girls division and Anastasia Kusmawan in the 13 year old girls division.
MacKillop students were successful in winning the following events – Junior Girls, Senior Boys and Senior Girls 4 x 50m Medley Relays; Zahra Abela (Year 9) – 50m Freesyle, 50m Backstroke, 50m Butterfly and 100m Freestyle; Mia Bogdanowicz (Year 7) – 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke;
Nathan Monte (Year 11) – 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke; Anastasia Kusmawan (Year 7) – 50m Breastroke; Emma Strongman (Year 9) – 50m Freestyle; Camryn Tyrrell (Year 8) – 50m Breastroke; Brent Wood (Year 8) – 50m Breastroke; Renae Meilak (Year 12) – 50m Breastroke; Year 7 Girls, Year 9 Boys, Year 9 Girls and Senior Boys 4 x 50m Freestyle Relays.
