SACCSS Athletics – Best results ever!
On Tuesday, just over one hundred students represented MacKillop in cold and wintry conditions at the annual SACCSS Athletics Carnival at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park. At the end of 126 events, our students finished the day winning a remarkable eight of the nine pennants up for grabs. They won the Junior Boys, Girls and Aggregate pennants. The Intermediate Boys, Girls and Aggregate pennants. And the Senior Boys and Aggregate pennants. The only division they didn’t win was the Senior Girls, who finished in second place, only two points behind the winning school. Eight pennants is a school record for any major SACCSS carnival, beating the seven Athletics pennants won in 2004 and 2010.

A special mention goes to the two students who won the individual champions’ medal in their respective age groups – Kaman Malou of Year 12 in the Senior Boys and Brayden Portelli of Year 9 in the 15 year old boys. Another highlight was the performance of Keegan Andrews of Year 9 who broke a long standing record in his discus event.
