Drama and Dance Showcase
Both Dance and Drama are brand new VCE subjects to MacKillop this Year and the Year 11 students were thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase what they have been creating in these dynamic subjects so far this year at the VCE Dance and Drama Showcase Evening on Monday 16th May.
The Drama students performed a selection from each of their self-devised ensemble performances which focussed on the tragic impact of the Bubonic Plague upon Europe from the 14th to 17th Centuries.
The students completing Unit 1 dance also presented their own choreographed dance work. They were asked to move beyond arranging well-known dance steps, and begin creating unique movement and expression through a story, theme or idea. The evening was a success and many students, family and friends attended the evening with all gold coin donations going towards the St. Vinnies Winter Appeal.
