COVID-19 – 21 July UPDATE 1

21 July 2020 by

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We trust that this finds you safe and well, and doing what must be done to ensure the safety of all, both within the MacKillop community and the wider community.

As the recent Media release from the State Government suggested, all students aged 12 and over, and staff who are attending MacKillop College, will be required to wear a face covering, such as a mask, at all times, including when at school, as of Thursday 23 July. This requirement applies to all schools in metropolitan Melbourne.

Face coverings will not be mandatory for teachers and support staff while they are teaching students, however they will be worn at all other times.

It is expected that students will provide their own face coverings. Replacement masks will be available during the day, if required.

MacKillop College continues to implement physical distancing and additional cleaning measures for the safety of students and staff. Daily temperature checks have also been introduced for students attending the College. To assist us in this process, please ensure your son/daughter has their College diary with them daily as this is where these temperature checks are recorded.

In the words of Mary MacKillop, ‘Keep up your courage…’ and know ‘God will take care of us all’.

Kind regards,
Rory Kennedy
Principal
