COVID-19 – 21 April Update 1
Dear Parent and Guardians,
MacKillop College is now into its second week of remote learning and we are all beginning to find our way in what is an unknown and somewhat disruptive environment.
The entire staff at MacKillop College are working tirelessly to ensure that our students have the best experience possible while engaging in remote learning.
Thank you to those parents/guardians who have given us feedback about what is working well and where we can improve our performance. Such feedback helps us shape what we are doing. We must all remember that remote learning in an online space cannot replicate the dynamic experience of what occurs in a classroom and so, in a sense, we must all change our expectations.
If your son/daughter is experiencing difficulty with the learning that has been sent home, please contact the teacher concerned so that they can make the necessary adjustments.
Those parents/guardians with a son or daughter in VCE, please make them aware of the VCE help desk (VCEhelpdesk@mackillop.vic.edu.au). An email with any question concerning aspects of their VCE curriculum will see a swift response and an offer of assistance or advice by some of our MacKillop Staff.
Please note, due to the ongoing nature of these updates we will not be publishing the MacKillop College Newsletter in its normal format. Monthly newsletters will resume as normal once school has returned to face-to-face teaching.
Stay safe and keep calm and, as Mary MacKillop said in 1877, “God give me strength for what is necessary.”
