Yr 9 St Marys Community Connections program
As part of the St Mary’s curriculum students are asked to look at the United Nations millennium goals and select a goal to raise about. Students in 9 Purple chose achieving universal primary education as their focus goal. In particular the class focussed on the Aboriginal education in remote areas of Australia. The students raised awareness around this issues by conducting a Walk for Education at the St Mary’s campus. This walk for education raised $800 and this will go to support indigenous educational programs in remote communities. Well done to the students in 9 Purple , their teachers and the support of all students at St Mary’s for raising both money and awareness around this important issue.
