19 March 2015 by

Congratulations to Katrina Valciukas, whose 2014 VCE art works are to be displayed in the National Gallery Victoria (NGV) in recognition of her VCAA Top Art selection. We also congratulate Mr Mark Tagliabue, Katrina’s VCE art teacher, who supported Katrina in developing such beautiful pieces of work.

Top ARTS will open on 19th March  28th June 2015 at NGV Australia, Federation Square

Above are the paintings Katrina completed in Unit 3/4 Art 2014 of which two are being displayed in the NGV.

To quote Katrina: “Inspired by my Lithuanian heritage and the beauty of the natural environment, I created a series of self-portraits with various animal motifs to represent different aspects of my personality and thought. The portraits’ titles, Zalias Drugelis and Raundona Lape, translate as Green Butterfly and Red Fox, and each work portrays a unique connection to the natural world.”
