May Report – Year 7 & 8

Year 7
It seems incredible to think that the Year 7s of 2012 are well into their second term at MacKillop, and the speed and ease with which the cohort has adapted to their new school environment has been even more astonishing. Aided by the overnight Anglesea experience, new friendships have been quickly established and a real sense of togetherness is evident amongst the year level. This unity has been further developed by such events as the Swimming Carnival, the MacKillop Fun Run and the magnificent fundraising which took place for Caritas, which saw students from all pastoral classes take part in a coin trail competition.

Year 8
It has been a busy start to Term 2. Many students have been involved in tryouts for Premier League – a sports competition where the selected students compete against a number of schools, in a variety of sports on a Thursday afternoon over 5 or 6 weeks. We wish all the competitors the very best and hope they enjoy the experience. The class captains worked well to plan, develop and present an informative year level assembly. They demonstrated terrific organisational and leadership skills. It was a great effort by all involved.
