Bookmark Competition Winners
To celebrate Book Week 2016, the Library ran a bookmark competition for years 7-12. The objective was for students to create a bookmark that encapsulated the theme of Australia: Story Country.
The Library had an overwhelming amount of submissions across all year levels, but there could only be three prize winners.
Thalia Mack from 8 Gold took out 1st Prize and a $50 Dymocks voucher with a design that celebrates Australia’s flora and fauna, dreamtime heritage and immigration.
Aremel Von Uan Tibayan from 11 Purple took out 2nd Prize and a $30 Dymocks voucher with a digital creation that looks at traditional storytelling juxtaposed to modern modes of reading and storytelling.
Klaudeen Rimando from 7 Gold took out 3rd Prize and a $20 voucher with a depiction of Aboriginal heritage and colonisaton.
The Library Staff congratulate Thalia, Aremel and Klaudeen on their wonderful creations! For students wishing to own a laminated copy of the bookmarks, they are available from the Library for 50 cents each. All proceeds will go to fundraising for the Great Book Swap.
Thank you to all the entrants – we look forward to your submissions for next year!
